CETAPHOBIA: The Fear of Whales

This is the place to explore your fear of whales. Cetaphobia (a term not yet widely used by psychologists) is more common than you might think. We all know someone with arachnophobia or aerophobia, but someone with and irrational fear of whales is a bit out of the ordinary. People without this fear are often very insensitive to it, which has the effect of alienating its sufferers. Many of them have had to repress the topic altogether for fear of ridicule. Hopefully, cetaphobes can take some comfort in two things:
  1. There are others who experience this fear and
  2. Cetaphobes respond well to common phobia treatment plans.
